Just the average day at the Rand Apocalypse Lot.

Heard noises outside and find Faon chatting to this Sim. I saw her later with the paparazzi tag, but at the time of this picture she didn’t have that tag on her. My guess is she had gotten off of work by the time Faon started chatting with her so she didn’t have the tag.

It’s now when I realize that I think I misremembered the rules regarding what forces a Sim to quit working the last time I was playing the game. So I read the rules and they state that pregnancy does force Sims to quit their job.

Since this is not a tournament save, I’m having a lot more lag indicating that there might be issues with the save, and the fact that Mindi was still within the marriage days off at the time of the birth, I’m going to allow Mindi to keep her job provided she meets the friend requirement that she would have had to do if she wasn’t a spouse. She was already in the friends area as of this picture and was there at the time she had to go to work so she got to keep her job.

Computer broke. Scoured the rules and found nothing that prevents aliens from recombobulating devices and so she recombobulates the computer.

These two are absolutely still in love with each other.

The twins are toddlers. This is Jolee.

And this is Juhani. And per my personal rule, I did go in and give Juhani eyebrows.

Kavar working on his writing skill. Off screen, he has topped the Painting skill.

Kavar manages to write a Best Selling Drama novel, adding another Best Seller to the list of Best Sellers needed for The Writers Guild Ending Requirement.

With the twins being toddlers, the journey to getting their skills taught so I can choose their traits begins.

Anyone with free time is told to work on teaching the twins the necessary skills.

Rebuilding Lucky Palms – Chapter 2.1

And more novel writing and time occupying tasks.

Someone broke the toilet and so Sion got to fix it. It occupied some time, keeping Sion from trying to do things that are against the rules. Like over stuff his inventory with books.

Sion invites Mindi over and gets her to good friend status to increase the chances of asking her to dump her lover.

She does dump her lover.

Sion then quickly puts the moves on her. He has work at 4 pm if we don’t get him married today.

He even gets his first kiss with Mindi that same day. She’s not too broken up about dumping her former lover.

And before she could leave so that Story Progression didn’t pair her off with someone else right away, Kavar proposes.

She accepts.

And they quickly get married.

I then learn after getting her moved in that she had 3 kids with her former lover. Oh well. This is an apocalypse. No regrets.

Mindi brings in a decent bit in dowry items in her inventory and has 1 Athletic skill point. I wish that was higher. But she’s got a number of days off of work so she’s got time to increase that before she goes to work. Especially if I make her have a kid during this break and I likely will.

And it took like 4 tries, but Kavar and Mindi got started on the next generation as Mindi was friends with her only coworker who turned into her boss later on.

Bastila was near the top of progress bar so she invited her boss over and asked for a promotion and she got it. Her boss was then sent home.

Don’t have time to deal with visitors messing with their items. Especially the food stash.

New daily routine. Radio is on Kids Music whenever Mindi is in the room to increase chances of multiples.

Mindi is now showing.

But that doesn’t stop me from having her increase her Athletic skill. Thankfully she can still do this even while pregnant.

She is close to topping her progress bar so she invites her boss over and attempts to ask for a promotion and fails. I then have her try to ask for a raise, which also fails.

The boss is then sent home.

Sion autonomously listening to Mindi’s belly.

They have to share the bed and with Mindi being the working one she gets the bed and Sion gets to use a sleeping bag

Sion and Faon are still adorable together.

Kavar has topped the guitar skill.

He now gets to work on his Athletic skill and his final Writing and Painting skill points to achieve his LTW.

More writing and skill gain and time occupying.

Kicky bag will raise Athletic skill for Sims. You may need to already have a point for that to happen though.

Mindi goes into labor!

And gives birth to twins.

First up is a boy named Jolee.

His traits are Slob and Bookworm. I could only choose 1 trait. I chose Slob.

Second up is a girl named Juhani.

Her traits are Slob and Computer Whiz. Like her brother I could only choose 1 trait and I chose Slob.

Rebuilding Lucky Palms – Chapter 2.0

Kavar won the heir poll by 1 vote between the votes here and the votes on Boolprop.net.

He spends most of his free time working on his guitar skill.

Once he got high enough, around level 5 I believe, it provided a nice moodlet for Bastila and for Faon for while they were writing novels.

My game in general is really fond of abducting the previous generation’s heir and this save is no exception.

Luckily he does not get pregnant.

I eventually send Kavar out to meet potential spouses. This Ingrid Catania. She’s one of the various Sims that get put into the various NPC roles. So not sure how easy she’ll be able to contact past here.

Sion doing his own thing, left to his own devices. Kavar playing his guitar. Faon raising her fun levels. Bastila writing. Sometimes it’s Faon writing and Bastila raising her fun levels.

Luckily again not pregnant. I did learn in my DITFT that elder males can get alien pregnant so I won’t be without risking new alien babies until Sion dies at least.

More guitar playing while Faon makes fresh peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I keep forgetting to watch her hunger motive when she eats. As you can stop the nauseous moodlet if you stop them finishing the meal. Apparently it’s only the last bite of something that gives you food poisoning in Sims. Slobs don’t get food poisoning at all.

They aren’t doing much of anything interesting. Mostly writing novels or raising guitar skill.

More alternating between raising fun and novel writing for the girls.

Sent Faon to the park again. This is Magdalena King-Sparks. She’s in the medical field. Which has almost the same hours as Kavar does so this will be hard to match together.

Sent Kavar to the park again. Didn’t find anyone worth interacting with for a possible spouse and caught this teen teaching this toddler how to walk. Or at least partially. They stopped the interaction immediately after this.

Calling the boss again as we didn’t quite get to friend status the previous phone allowed day. This time we do.

More earnest spouse hunting now.

This is Mindi King-Sparks. She’s in the Criminal career. She does have a partner, but I’m not over breaking up couples in an apocalypse. Kavar manages to learn that she’s a Heavy Sleeper, Evil, Family-Oriented, Slob, and Clumsy.

She’s got “I want to be in an apocalypse” written all over. She’s just a decoy so even if she wants to be Emperor of Evil, I can force her down the Master Thief path anyway.

And she’s about Kavar’s age, too.

This is Allyson Irwin. She’s in Business and Dislikes Children. So hard to reach and hates children. Given the other candidate of Mindi, while I like her appearance better, appearances mean nothing in an apocalypse.

And this is where we end up.

And some decent progress towards the Ending Requirement I have chosen has been made. Chose The Writers’ Guild as my Ending Requirement. This requires you to have a best seller in all categories. Initially this included the Life’s Story genre, but it appears that this novel is a Politics top level opportunity and too much luck based on if you get it or not so it has been removed from the required list. If Faon gets it, I will be thrilled.

I have 5 of the 14 novels required.

• Sion got the Non-Fiction as part of his lift of Education

• Bastila got Trashy
• Kavar got Children’s and Fiction

Kavar is Level 3 of the Music career and his boss is currently Ricky Matlapin-Dreamer.

Bastila is Level 4 of the Business career.

Author’s Note:

Game Play related: I have a tendency to be affected by the auto-group up bug where the invited Sims will arrive, auto start a group, and then a few seconds later leave due to a bad outing without any time for any interaction to occur. Since this is not tournament play I have decided that if a Sim invites over a Sim and this glitch happens that I am allowed to undo any loss of friendship status and send the Sim over to that Sim’s house to do what I want without regards to network. They are not allowed to interact with any other Sim on the lot or use anything that they would not be able to use at their own house. I will also remove any moodlets the glitch gives and any moodlets that the correction gives.

I have also entered this story into Boolprop’s 2020 SimNaNo. Where you get to create your own story goals to work towards.

My overarching goal with this year’s SimNaNo is to get better at regularly updating. So I figured I’d start scheduling updates to go on specific days of the month and try to stick to a posting schedule to see if that helps me keep things going.

My individual goals for this story are 500 words and 20 pictures. I plan on updating this story 2 times in July.

Hoshi’s Apocalypse – Entry 4

Amelia here and it’s time for another entry. I’ve taken over for my father since I’m now old enough.

I did not waste time finding someone special. His name is Nervous Subject and he’s a fairy. Which was fine with me. I couldn’t afford to be picky. He didn’t tell me he had a cat though. But Nervous assured me the cat was old and would not live for long.

Weeks 4-6

Three weeks because weeks 4 and 5 were the same. Week 6 is where things happened. At least on the version I’m blogging about.

I first played through several weeks and ran into the problem of my male founder was going to hit elder before topping his career. So I exited without saving.

And redid the several weeks.

When Carth gets a phone call, he answers it. If it’s late at night or I have better things for him to do, I will hang up if it’s not a boss, a coworker, or Bella.

Weeks 2 and 3

Because not that much happened that’s worth blogging about.

I promise this is a different picture. Here he’s reading Bloviation on HyperInflation. The opportunity came one day when he was close to getting promoted, but couldn’t quite eek it out, and it offered increased job performance as wells relationship with boss. I normally have Sims read them immediately. But I held off until the next day. Because he was already close to getting promoted, he was going to get promoted the next day even without the opportunity and job progress doesn’t overflow when you get promoted.

Week 1

Meet my apocalypse Founder! Carth Rand. For those who read my DITFT, the guy should look familiar. For he not only shares the name with, he IS the spare of generation 1. Mostly, I was just lazy and wanted a unique looking face. I was also lazy and only gave him 1 trait. Because Eco-Friendly isn’t a base game trait. If it was, he’d have had it.
